Third suspect arrested in Slidell's second homicide of 2013

Slidell, La. - Slidell police arrested a third person Friday in an Aug. 18 shooting that left one man dead.

Daquan Ratliff, 18, was booked with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder in connection with the death of Clarence Adams, who was shot and killed in the 700 block of Walnut Street. During the course of the investigation, police discovered that Ratliff played a role in assisting the alleged shooters, 20-year-old Raheem Willis and a 15-year-old juvenile.

In the Aug. 18 incident, police responded to reports of a fight with shots fired. When they arrived they found Adams lying in the street with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Willis and the 15-year-old were both booked with second-degree murder. The juvenile is being held at the Florida Parish Juvenile Detention Center, and Willis is at the St. Tammany Parish Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

Ratliff is jailed at the Slidell City Jail and will be taken to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

Adams' killing is Slidell's second homicide o9f 2013.
