Man found dead near train tracks in Reserve


Reserve, La. - St. John the Baptist sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a man who was found Saturday morning near train tracks in Reserve.

Deputies were called to East 16th Street just before 8:30 a.m. by a resident who saw the man lying on the ground. Investigators said the unidentified man is the victim of a homicide, but they did not give any details on the manner of death.

The victim is described as a young black man wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.

The homicide is the 13th this year in St. John the Baptist Parish.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office TIPS line at (985) 359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
