Saints improve to 3-0, beat Texans 31-23

New Orleans -- The New Orleans Saints overcame a slow start to beat the Houston Texans today, 31-23. The Saints improved to 3-0 this preseason.

After falling into a 10-0 hole, the Saints would score 17 of the next 20 points. Drew Brees hit Pierre Thomas on a pass that Thomas took 51 yards for a touchdown. Then later in the half, Luke McCown connected with Kenny Stills on a 14-yard scoring strike.

Brees finished the game 4-of-6 for 104 yards and the touchdown. McCown was 10-of-14 for 118 yards and two scores. Third-string quarterback Ryan Griffin also completed 8-of-13 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Receiver Andy Tanner tallied three catches for 33 yards and two touchdowns.

The Saints will wrap up the preseason Thursday night on the road against the Miami Dolphins.
