Police seek robber caught on hotel security video


New Orleans, La. - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Treme hotel Monday morning.

The robbery happened at about 6:15 a.m. at the Empress Hotel on Ursulines Street. Police said the man implied he had a weapon and took an undisclosed amount of cash from a clerk.

The suspect is described as a black male about 6 feet tall wearing a dark blue or black baseball cap, a white short-sleeved T-shirt with a circular design and dark gray, blue or black knee-length shorts and white tennis shoes with dark accents.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
