Man found shot to death on Congress Street


New Orleans, La. - Police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left a 19-year-old man dead in the parking area of an apartment complex.

The shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Congress Street. Police responding to a call of shots fired found the victim inside a car with a gunshot to the head. He died at the scene.  

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members.

The lead homicide detective in this case is Anthony Pardo.   

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
