Two separate drug busts lead to the arrest of two couples allegedly caught manufacturing meth.
Lafourche Parish sheriff's detectives arrested a man and woman from Des Allemands after agents discovered them in the process of making meth inside their home on West Bayou Road.
Agents went to the home last Thursday after learning the male suspect recently acquired items used to make meth.
While talking to the homeowner, Joel Barrios, agents say they smelled a strong odor consistent with the chemicals used to make meth. Agents looked inside the home and found that Barrios was in fact in the 'cooking' process.
Barrios was arrested along with his girlfriend Phoenix Barkman, who was found inside the home. Agents had to evacuate a nearby home due to safety concerns.
In Terrebonne Parish, sheriff's deputies conducted a 'knock and talk' at a home in the 1200 block of Roussell Street in Houma.
Agents say the couple inside the home admitted to having material inside used to produce meth.
