Slidell, La. - The Slidell Police Department is searching for 19 year-old Michael Cooper after he fired several shots at two people in central Slidell Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman with the Slidell Police Department says it happened around 12:30pm in Campbell Park located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Officers arrived on the scene and found two victims who were able to dodge several bullets that were aimed in their direction.

Witnesses told police that a dark green Chevrolet Suburban followed the two unsuspecting suspects to Campbell Park. After arriving at the park, the passenger of the green Suburban, who has been identified as Michael Cooper, jumped out and began opening fire at the two victims. Cooper then got back into the Suburban and fled.

The victims told police that they had no idea why someone would try to shoot them.

Slidell Police obtained arrest warrants for Cooper for two counts of attempted second degree murder.

Police believe Cooper is armed and dangerous, and police are asking the public's help in apprehending this suspect.
