New Orleans, La. - Attorneys for former mayor Ray Nagin went back to federal court Thursday morning.
nagin's trial on corruption charges is set to begin next month.
The former mayor was not in court Thursday morning.
Attorneys in the case met in the judge's chambers to discuss procedural matters.
Back in January, a grand jury indicted Nagin on 21 counts of corruption.
The indictment alleges that while in office, Nagin took bribes and gifts from city contractors.
His attorney Robert Jenkins said the conference was routine.
"This was just another status, and to be very clear, it's just more of scheduling order getting together with some dates, cutoff dates, and guidelines. That's all that happened," said Jenkins.
Nagin's lawyer denies there's been any talk of a plea deal.
Nagin no longer lives in New Orleans, but he's in regular contact with lawyers.
