Westbury, N.Y. - A group of financial experts thinks more people should consider starting businesses in Louisiana.

For the second year in a row, Area Development magazine ranks the state 6th on its list of the best states for doing business.

The magazine's researchers considered factors like utility rates, shovel-ready sites, taxes and regulations. They note 33 consecutive months of private-sector job growth and education reforms gave Louisiana an edge when they put this year's list together.

The states beating Louisiana on the magazine's list include Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and North Carolina.
