UPDATE: The New Orleans Police Department says 41 year-old Shawn Peterson arrived at NOPD Headquarters and is speaking with detectives. Watch FOX 8 News at noon for more on this developing story.
New Orleans, La. - A 39-year-old New Orleans police 911 dispatcher was shot and killed late Wednesday night. Her 20-year-old son and 18-year old daughter were also shot to death, according to an NOPD spokesperson.
All three victims died on the scene.
The shooting happened in the 4400 block of Jean Marie Place in Gentilly just after 11 p.m. Police were called to the area to investigate a shooting. Once there, they found the three victims dead inside of a garage.
A family member identified the victims as 39-year-old Christine George, 20-year-old Trisa George and 18-year-old Leonard George.
Police are looking for 41-year-old Shawn Peterson. They call him a person of interest in the case. He is known to drive a white pickup truck. A family member says Peterson is the father of Leonard George.
Christine George was an employee of the NOPD as a 911 dispatcher since 2009.
