As girl is laid to rest, police continue the search for her killer

New Orleans, La. - Eleven-year-old Arabian Gayles was laid to rest today, but police are still searching for her killer.

Detectives are looking for a stolen car that might be connected to the Labor Day shooting. The vehicle is a white, 2013 Volkswagen CC Sport with Georgia license plate CAZ3802. Investigators suspect the license plate may have been switched recently.

On Thursday police interviewed two men they believe could have information about the shooting. Romalis Williams and Ronell Martin went to the Second District police station voluntarily. They were questioned and released.

Gunmen opened fire on Gayle's home in the 1300 block of Gen. Ogden on Sept. 2, killing her as she rocked her 1-year-old cousin.

Gayle's 11-year-old cousin and a 38-year-old man were wounded in the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment.
