Saints take 10-7 lead into the half

Tight end Jimmy Graham hauled in eight receptions for a career-high 156 yards and a touchdown, as the Saints built a 10-7 halftime lead over the Bucs.

Graham's 156 yards receiving is a new Saints single-game record for a tight end.

The game was interrupted after New Orleans' initial drive by a lighting strike and subsequent weather delay, which lasted roughly an hour and nine minutes. Before that, the Saints did score first, using a 44-yard field goal from Garrett Hartley to cap off a 12-play drive. Hartley later missed a 43-yard attempt.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 16-of-27 passes for 216 yards in the first half but also threw an interception, which led to Tampa's touchdown. Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman connected with wideout Kevin Ogletree on a five-yard scoring strike to make it a 7-3 Bucs lead.

But the Saints answered immediately, with Brees finding a wide open Graham, who raced 56 yards on his touchdown. Graham's 29-yard reception late in the half would later set the Saints up with a 1st-and-goal from the one situation, but the Black-and-Gold stalled and the Bucs eventually stuffed Mark Ingram on fourth down.

The Saints ran the ball for just 35 yards on 12 carries and were four-of-eight on third-downs.

The Bucs will receive the ball to begin the third quarter.

Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday.
