Mandeville, La.- Investigators in Mandeville now believe reports of an attempted kidnapping of a young girl as she got off a school bus in late August are not true.

At the time the 11-year-old claimed she was walking home from the school bus when a man in an older model car asked her if she needed a ride and then chased her.

Detectives with the Mandeville Police Department say they have thoroughly investigated the incident and have been unable to corroborate any evidence from the victim's account. Detectives say they even went over video surveillance from the school bus and other cameras that day and found nothing.

Investigators also cite inconsistent and contradictory statements about the incident that were made during the investigation. All of that, they say, lead them to conclude that the incident is unsubstantiated.

FOOTBALL Look at the cover pic for this post, I look miserable. You know what, I was!! The week leading up to the Saints-Vikings game was awful weather-wise. Below zero temperatures on Friday and Saturday. No one should have to deal with this nastiness. Next week, fans of New England, Philadelphia, and corporate types will be dealing with this blustery weather. But they shouldn't have to. This game should be a relief from the cold, a vacation with shorts involved. I know Minneapoli...
