Three suspects wanted in St. Tammany home invasion

Covington, La. - St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office investigators are trying to identify three men wanted for an early morning home invasion outside Covington.

A police spokesman says around 9:00am Thursday, the homeowners told police that three masked and armed males forced their way into their home on Eden St. in the Abita Nursery subdivision.

The men, believed to be two black males and one white male, were looking for money they believed was left in the home by the residents' son who was recently arrested on drug charges.

When the three men discovered the son had not lived at the Eden street residence prior to his arrest and there was no money there, they pistol whipped the couple.

The home's alarm system activated, and the men fled in an older model, dark colored SUV.

The homeowners were taken to the hospital. The man received stitches and the woman was treated for a swollen eye.
