Update: Flash flood watch to continue through Sunday morning

Updated:

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The National Weather Service in New Orleans issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes.

The flash flood watch will continue through tonight and into Sunday morning.

A band of heavy rain could linger over the gulf coast this afternoon potentially adding an extra 1 to 3 inches of rain in the area causing street flooding in low-lying area with poor drainage.

Scattered showers and thunder storms are expected to continue through Tuesday with the majority of rainfall happening along the coast.

Scattered power outages have been reported in the metro area.

To stay up to date on the power outages in your area and their repair status, residents can check the Cleco power outages map here, or the Entergy power outages map here.
