Police searching for missing 13-year-old

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Police are searching for a missing 13-year-old last seen on Sunday morning.

On Friday, Sept. 20, Vontrice Madison was with his mother at a relative's apartment at 3300 Garden Oaks Drive. At about 11:30 p.m., his mother left to go home, but left Madison behind because he was already sleeping. Madison's mother told her relatives that when he woke up he should come straight home.

When Madison's mother woke up the next day and saw that he hadn't returned, she went back to her relatives apartment and was told that he left around 6 a.m.

Madison has been called a habitual runaway according to police. His mother said that he has a medical condition and does not have his prescriptions with him.

Madison is 5'7" and about 169 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey Nike shirt with black gym shorts and white Nike tennis shoes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Vontrice Madison is asked to call Fourth District Detective Jessica K. Williams at 658-6045, the 4th District Station at 658-6040, or the NOPD Non-Emergency number at 504-821-2222.
