Police investigate sexual assault of girl in Roseland

ROSELAND, La. - Authorities on the Northshore are investigating the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.

Roseland Police Chief Henry White said the assault occurred Sept. 15 at about  2 a.m. at an abandoned trailer behind a church. Authorities said the trailer is often used as a hangout.

Police arrested two men, Trevon Robertson and Kevin Griffin. They were booked with oral sexual battery. A third suspect, Tevin Smith, who is accused of acting as an accessory, is still at large.

Three juveniles are also allegedly involved, but have not been arrested.

Officials said charges against the adult suspects could be upgraded.

The girl's parents reported the assault to police the next day.
