NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans police are asking for your help in identifying and locating a man who struck a bicyclist Monday and fled the scene at the intersection of Poydras and Tchoupitoulas streets.

At about 12:45 a.m., a 34-year-old woman was riding her bike when a man driving a light blue 2013 Toyota Camry ran a red light and struck her. The driver of the Camry exited the vehicle for a short time and then fled the scene. A witness took pictures of the suspect and his car before he fled.

The victim is hospitalized in stable condition.

The Camry's license number is Oregon plate 128FFF. It's registered to Lucy M. Hutcens, 77, of Vale, Oregon. Police would like to speak to her but say she is not a suspect in the hit and run.

Detectives have been unable to locate the registered owner and driver of the car and are asking for help in locating them.

The driver of the Camry is described as a 5'6" white man with a heavy build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sgt. Bernard Crowden at (504) 658-6210 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
