Baton Rouge, La. - State and Federal law enforcement agents seized more than 70 pounds of cocaine from an airplane that landed at Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

Homeland Security Investigators notified State Police Narcotics agents that they were tracking a suspicious aircraft flying from McAllen, Texas to Atlanta, Georgia. Agents met the aircraft when the pilot stopped in Baton Rouge to refuel. Police say Vincenzo Salzano identified himself as the co-owner of the airplane and gave them permission to search the aircraft. Agents located nearly 72 pounds of cocaine.

Agents say Salzano and his son-in-law, Mohammad Nekouie hired a pilot to fly them to Georgia. Salzano's son, Armando Salzano was also on board the plane. All three of the Colorado men have been arrested and booked with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

The seizure was a joint operation including Louisiana State Police Narcotics agents, Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection, Baton Rouge Police Department and the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport Police.
