Early voting period in Oct. 19 election ends Saturday

Baton Rouge, La. - You have one day left to vote early in the October 19 election.

Voters have multiple issues to consider, including judgeships.

Jefferson parish voters will decide if they want to renew a property tax that generates $23 million a year for the school system.

In Orleans, a proposed charter change would not only remove city council members from the board. It would also restrict the years board members can serve.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler says early voting traffic has been light. At least 26,558 people statewide have already cast ballots.
