Mayor Landrieu presents 2014 budget

New Orleans, La. - Mayor Mitch Landrieu appeared before the city council Tuesday to present the 2014 budget.

The budget includes more revenue from property and sales tax collections.

The city also expects additional revenue from a proposed ordinance allowing the sewage and water board to shut off water service for customers who fail to pay the monthly trash fee.

All the new revenue won't cover increased costs. City officials say some departments are facing a 15 percent cut.

The council is required to pass a budget by December 1st.
