Accident involving ambulance leaves five injured

New Orleans -- New Orleans Police Officers are investigating an accident involving an ambulance that left five people injured. The accident occurred Wednesday, around 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Calliope and Baronne. 

Police say that the driver of the ambulance, ran through a red light, hit a car, then struck a pole. The driver of the car, along with the two occupants in the ambulance and the two EMS techs all suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.

No citations were issued in the incident and the case will be reviewed by the City Attorney's Office.
