Plane bound for New Orleans detained in Charlotte, NC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A US Airways flight from Buffalo, N.Y., has been stopped on the taxiway in Charlotte after a threatening note was found.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport officials said the note was found Monday afternoon and the plane landed and was kept away from the terminal. Authorities called the note suspicious, but did not detail what was written. The flight was scheduled to continue to New Orleans.

Video from WSOC-TV showed fire engines and two police cars parked next to the plane which was away from the terminal. Several city buses were parked nearby. Airport officials say the investigation wasn't causing problems or delays for other flights in Charlotte.

According to the U.S. Airways website, the plane is now scheduled to arrive in New Orleans at 4:03pm
