Washington Parish police capture 'most wanted' suspected rapist

BOGALUSA, La. - The Washington Parish Sheriff's office arrested one of it's most wanted suspects who is suspected of committing rape and multiple counts of sexual battery, all on juveniles.

Delrick Abrams, 41, was apprehended in his car on Standish Place in Bogalusa Thursday by Washington Parish Detective Damon Mitchell and the U.S. Marshal's Task Force.

After Abrams was listed on the Sheriff's Office website as one of Washington Parish's most wanted, he began to call the office daily promising to turn himself in, but never followed through. Police said Abrams continued calling each day as if saying "Catch me if you can."

Sheriff Randy Seal said that Abrams is now in jail where Seal said he belongs. "The sexual exploitation of juveniles is an inexcusable offense and I am so pleased our detectives were able to conclude this investigation and make the arrest."

Abrams is being held in the Washington Parish Jail. No Bond has been set at this time.
