Tornado watch remains in effect for North Shore, South Shore dropped

A tornado watch in effect for the north shore and metro south shore parishes has been cancelled.

A cold front is approaching from the west. But before the cooler and less humid air arrives, some storms are in the forecast for Thursday.

The timing appears to be for the areas north and the river parishes to experience the storms by this evening and shortly followed by the metro area tonight.

Storms will continue during the overnight hours and to wrap up by early Friday morning. The cooler air will lag behind and may not arrive until later in the day Friday and for the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday look great with sunny skies and cool temps!

We will be warming up into next week with a rain chance everyday until a cold front moves through by Thursday of next week.
