NEW ORLEANS – Kenner Police arrested a New Orleans man they say tried to steal used cooking grease from a restaurant.

Frank T. Nelson III, 57, faces charges of felony attempted theft, criminal trespassing and driving without a license.

According to the Kenner Police Department, an off-duty detective saw Nelson at about 12:12 a.m. in the 3100 block of Loyola Drive driving truck with storage tanks and hoses.

The department said the detective saw Nelson pull the truck into the parking lot of Kenner Seafood on Loyola Drive. He confronted Nelson after he saw him approach a grease trap with a flashlight and prepare to remove used cooking grease.

Police said that Nelson was not contracted to remove used cooking grease from the location and that he was trespassing on the property.
