NOPD: Man robbed at gunpoint for 78 cents


New Orleans, La. - The NOPD is searching for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint and demanded the change from his pocket.

Police say it happened last Sunday around 2:20am in the 2800 block of Amelia Street.

The victim told police he was walking home from a gas station in the 4100 block of South Claiborne when he was approached by a black male on a bicycle.

The victim stated that the male suspect told him to "give me your change" and produced a black semi-automatic handgun from his pocket.

The victim handed the suspect the 78 cents that was left from his purchase at the gas station. 

The victim described the suspect as a black male, thin build, wearing a dark colored knit cap or hoodie, and dark clothes.
