METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan says he's enjoying his new gig in Big Easy too much to cling to any resentment over being fired by Dallas last season.
Ryan gets a shot at revenge when his Saints defense faces Tony Romo and the Cowboys' offense on Sunday night.
But Ryan says his focus is purely on trying to be "part of something special" under his new boss, Sean Payton, in New Orleans. The coach says he'd prefer the attention be on his team, not him.
Ryan says he doesn't care if anyone thinks he failed in Dallas, because he's confident in his ability as a coach. Ryan also says that if he worried about every team that fired him, he'd have "a grudge every week."
