Woman carjacked in Metairie, cut with broken bottle

METAIRIE, La. - Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies are searching for a man who cut a 68-year-old woman with a bottle and then carjacked her in Metairie.

Investigators say the woman, who is from Chalmette, told officers she was sitting in her car at about 11:30 a.m. after visiting a store in the 200 block of Veterans Boulevard.
A man armed with a broken bottle walked up and demanded her vehicle.
She said when she didn't move fast enough, he pulled her from the car and drove off in her white, 2004, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier with Louisiana license plate NWL309.
The victim is recovering from cuts on her head and arms.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20's, 5'6"-5'7" tall with a thin build and a bald head. He had multiple tattoos on head, face and neck.
