Police seek man who tried to rob woman at knifepoint in Quarter

NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who tried to rob a woman at knifepoint Tuesday in the French Quarter.

Police said the victim was walking in the 900 block of Chartres Street at about 6 p.m. when a white male stepped into her path with a knife and said "give me all you got." The victim began to scream loudly, and the man fled on Chartres toward Jackson Square.

The subject is described as approximately 5'6" tall with a thin build and a thin mustache. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie and jeans.

The subject was captured on surveillance video just before the incident.

Anyone with information on his identity is asked to contact Det. Thomas Perez at (504) 658-6080 or TPerez@nola.gov,  or CrimeStoppers at (504) 822-1111.
