Development at former Colonial Country Club wins approval

Harahan, La. - Plans for  a new development in Harahan wins final approval after years of controversy.

Stirling Properties got the all-clear Thursday night to build on some of the land that used to be home to Colonial Country Club.

City leaders agreed to a re-zoning request for one part of the huge, 88-acre tract to become a retail center.

NOLA.com - The Times-Picayune reported the council voted for the development, despite concerns by some Harahan residents about traffic, noise, and drainage.

Plans call for a pharmacy, bank, and what developers have described as a "high-end" grocery store.
