Tiffany's opens in Canal Place

New Orleans, La. - One of the country's most iconic jewelry stores now calls Canal Street home.

Tiffany and Company cut it's signature blue ribbon and officially opened for business in Canal Place.

It's store number 94 in the United States, and the vice-president of Tiffany's mid-Atlantic market says opening the first Louisiana store in New Orleans was a no brainer.

"Louisiana has such a rich history in tradition and culture as does Tiffany. It's been around for 176 years and we wanted to be in New Orleans for the past decade and today is the culmination of a lot of planning and work," said Diane Brown.

Tiffany's has brought in four very special archival pieces for the New Orleans opening. Seed pearl jewelry is on display based on pieces given to Mary Todd Lincoln from President Lincoln .
