Raceland man without seatbelt killed in car crash

RACELAND, La. - A Raceland man died in a single-car crash after his vehicle traveled off the road and struck a tree on LA 182.

Percy Hills, 44, was traveling east on LA 182  near Bayou Folse Road when, for unknown reasons, he traveled off the road. Hills over-corrected and caused his car to cross back over the road and into a tree.

Hills was not wearing his seatbelt at the time and was partially ejected from the car. he was transported the St. Anne General Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Toxicology tests are still pending. The crash remains under investigation.

    A Texas man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for stealing $1.2 million worth of fajitas over nine years.
