Suspect sought in French Quarter beating and robbery

New Orleans, La. - New Orleans Police detectives are investigating a beating and robbery in the French Quarter early Tuesday morning. Police say three people grabbed a 48-year-old man who was walking in the 700 block of Dauphine Street shortly before 1 am. Two of the the suspects began punching the man, while a third then reached into the victim's pockets and stole his cell phone.

All three then ran down Dauphine before turning onto Orleans Avenue, heading toward Rampart Street. Police were able to make a composite sketch of one of the suspects. Officers are asking anyone with information to contact Eighth District Detective Mike Flores at 504-658-6080 or contact Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

A $2500 reward is being offered by Crimestoppers for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Tips are confidential and you do not have to give your name or testify to receive the cash reward.
