LSU QB Mettenberger suffers torn ACL, will miss bowl game

Baton Rouge, La. - LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger may have played his last game of his collegiate career.

LSU confirms the senior tore is ACL in last Friday's game against Arkansas.
That means Mettenberger will not play in a bowl game.
He was injured in the fourth quarter of the Arkansas game.
Backup quarterback Anthony Jennings finished the game leading the tigers to a 31-27 win.
Mettenberger was expected to enter the 2014 NFL draft and go possibly in the first round.
"We are very disappointed for Zach," coach Les Miles said on Wednesday. "He's been a tremendous leader for our team and he's as competitive a guy as I have ever been around. He's had a great impact on our program. I know Zach will work extremely hard to rehabilitate his knee and I don't anticipate this injury having any impact on what should be a great future in the NFL."
