NEW ORLEANS - Two people have been arrested in the Nov. 13 shooting deaths of a father and his infant son on the Westbank.

Kevin Thomas, 23, and Isaac Pierre, 20, were picked up Thursday in 5100 block of Franklin Avenue. Detectives received information that led them to do surveillance on a nearby house. When the two left the house, police followed and pulled them over. Thomas and Pierre were subsequently booked with two counts each of first-degree murder.

Deshawn Butler, 25, Deshawn Kinard, 7 months, were killed after someone in a dark-colored SUV fired at the car they were riding in the 2100 block of Gen. Degaulle. Police say shooting was gang-related, and that Butler was a member of the Fischer Fools who are fighting with the Hot Block gang, both based in Algiers.

Police said additional arrests are likely.
