New Orleans broadcast icon Frank Davis dies

New Orleans, La. - A New Orleans broadcast icon has died.

Chef and outdoorsman Frank Davis passed away yesterday, according to reports.

Davis was known to viewers for his "down-home" personality in the kitchen, weekly fishing reports and "naturally nawlins" segments.

He retired in 2011 after more than 30 years on local television.  That's when doctors diagnosed him with a rare auto-immune disease.

He moved to Texas recently to be closer to family members.

Davis was 71 years-old.

Funeral arrangements have not been disclosed.
