Pelicans get back to .500 with overtime win over Pistons

New Orleans, La. - The Pelicans took advantage of their four days of rest against a Pistons team playing their fourth game in five nights as New Orleans(10-10) outlasted Detroit(10-13) in overtime, 111-106.

The game had several dominant runs for each team, including a 22-13 Pistons run in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime.  That's where Ryan Anderson took over, scoring 8 of the Pels' 15 overtime points.

New Orleans was also aided by the contributions of Tyreke Evans who was expected to be out at least one week after spraining his ankle Friday against the Thunder.  He scored 14 points in 24 minutes of action and told FOX 8's Jennifer Hale afterward his ankle "is a little sore but definitely ready to go, just got to keep icing and getting treatment, try to help my team out, play hard and win games."

Jason Smith led the team with 22 points and 16 rebounds, a career high.

New Orleans will host Memphis(10-11) Friday before embarking on a five-game road trip.
