Saints loss to Carolina tough for fans to swallow

New Orleans -- The Saints loss against the Panthers was a tough one for fans to swallow. Many say they weren't expecting the team to come so close, and then walk away without a win.

At Tracey's on Magazine Street, it was a packed house for the high stakes battle with the Panthers. The last quarter of the game provided fans with some hope, after Jimmy Graham's touchdown.

Will Sheppard says, "I thought it was going to be a tie game and go into overtime. I thought they were going to do a field goal and tie it up."

Instead of a field goal, the Panthers made one final game winning touchdown. Receiver Domenik Hixon caught a 14-yard pass in the end zone from Cam Newton with 23 seconds remaining.

Nick Schor says, "That was pretty, pretty depressing right there."

Marsha Eisenberg adds, "It was disappointing. They could've done better."

Everyone has their own theory as to why the Saints lost, from the fact that it was a road game, to the pounding rain that surrounded the team for a good portion of the game.

"There were like two series there where Drew Brees couldn't do anything because the ball weighed more with the water. It was just awful," said Nick Schor.

Brad Slagle says, "Just seems like the last six weeks or so, we're just not making the plays that we need to."

Now, these Who Dats are looking ahead to next weekend's match-up against Tampa...back in the dome. They're thinking the home field advantage and 12th man...will help. Most are pretty confident the Saints will make it to the playoffs...and flourish.

"I think once we get in the playoffs, go on the road, I think everything will work out," said Michael McKinley.

And hopefully it'll end with a trip to the biggest game of the season.
