According to Sony, the new PS4 epitomizes everything PlayStation franchise stands for: immersive game play with neck-snapping speed, powerful graphics, and deeply-integrated social capabilities. Its sleek, modern, elegant exterior exudes power, which Sony hopes will inspire developers to unleash gaming experiences never before possible.
To provide smooth 1080p HD-resolution video, the new gaming console is equipped with a custom 8-core AMD processor, enhanced graphics processing unit (GPU), 8GB of GDDR5 unified system memory, 500GB hard disk, imperceptible forced air cooling, and HDMI output. Peripherals include a flawless DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller and optional PlayStation Camera ($59), both of which come in "Jet Black" color.
The PlayStation 4 takes social connectivity to the next level by letting users share their favorite game play moments with friends. With a press of the "SHARE" button, images and videos can be shared via the activity feed on other PS4 users' Dynamic Menu or on social networking services, such as Facebook. Game play images can also be shared via Twitter, Upstream, and Twitch. During live broadcasts, friends can even make comments on streamed game play.
The Sony PS4 has a suggested retail price of $399, and a library of 30+ PS4-compatible games is expected to be available by year's end. For more information, visit us.playstation.com.
