Houma, La. - Three children were killed early Christmas morning in a trailer fire in Houma.
The fire started around 1:30am at a home in the 100 block of Whispering Oaks Drive on the south side of Houma.
Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browing says the three children, ages 11, 12 and 13, were from Alabama and had been visiting relatives in Houma.
Investigators with the Louisiana State Fire Marshall's Office says there were a total of 12 people in the trailer at the time of the fire.
While a cause has not been determined, investigators do believe the fire was accidental.
Louisiana State Fire Marshall Butch Browning says it does not appear the trailer had smoke detectors.
The children's father, along with another adult, suffered burns and were taken to the hospital.
A nearby trailer and two vehicles suffered damage from the fire.
