Guns taken in Gentilly pawn shop burglary

NEW ORLEANS - Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating three subjects wanted in connection with the burglary of a pawn shop.

The incident occurred Tuesday just after 4 a.m. in the 3000 block of Gentilly Boulevard.

In surveillance video obtained by detectives, three men are seen prying open the front door of the shop and entering with a large garbage can. The subjects then smash the glass of the gun display case and take about 20 handguns. They then move to the electronics display case and  load the garbage can with electronics before fleeing the location.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111. Callers do not have to give their names and could be eligible for a reward for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment.
