NEW ORLEANS - The Saints have lost four of their last five road games, and the Saints franchise - well, they've never won a road game in the playoffs - ever. Coach Sean Payton has an idea to change all that.
"Those are significant changes," he said. "When you change your Gatorade color, that's a big deal. The night before, what you eat is a big deal. Sweatsuits, the old ones were getting kind of raggedy to begin with anyway. We are trying a different name brand."
Quarterback Drew Brees likes the new beefy mac idea, but it's on the field where the real work will take place.
"Yes, so, all joking aside, we are certainly not sitting here overreacting," Brees said. "We understand our last three outings on the road have not been our best performances. At times, you know, you do have to kind of change things up so psychologically (and) you say it is going to be different this time around. Our preparation, I feel like throughout this week as we lay it out, is going to be a big part of that. What you do Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in preparation for this Saturday."
Even though the Saints are 3-5 on the road this season, and 0-3 on the road under Payton, they're only a 2.5-point underdog to the Eagles.
