Police release man accused in fatal Fontainbleau shooting


NEW ORLEANS - Police have questioned and released a man accused of fatally shooting another man Thursday morning in the Fontainbleau neighborhood.

Police spokesman Officer Garry Flot said the incident is being classified as a justifiable homicide and results of the investigation are being turned over to the District Attorney's Office for review. 

At about 11 a.m., Second District officers responded to the intersection of Calhoun and Hewes streets, where they found a 40-year-old man shot to death. Detectives learned that there had been a domestic fight between the victim and a woman, when a 38-year-old man intervened. A scuffle ensued, and the victim was shot.

No further information, including the names of those involved, was released.
