Woman kicked and robbed in Algiers Point

ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is searching for two suspects who knocked a woman the ground and stole her purse.

A spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Department says it happened Tuesday around 4:50pm.

The victim had taken the Canal Street Ferry to Algiers to tour the Algiers Point area when she was approached from behind by one of the suspects who forcefully pulled the straps of her purse.

Police say when the victim began to struggle, she was thrown to the ground and kicked in the back by a second suspect.

Suspect one is described as an African-American male, around 6 feet tall, medium

build, short hair, and beard. He was dressed in a light blue t-shirt with large pink words on the front, and white jeans.

Suspect two is described as an African-American male, 6'1"-6'2" in height with a slim build. He was wearing a gray baseball cap, black jacket, and blue jean shorts.
