Denham Springs students arrested in terror plot they say was a joke

Updated:

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA - Six high school students were arrested on charges of terrorizing for plot they say was only a joke.

On Jan. 16, A Livingston Parish School Resource Officer assigned to Live Oak High School learned that several students were involved in what appeared to be a plot to damage the school and harm its students.

According to Sheriff Jason Ard, once the students were confronted with the evidence police gathered, they all claimed it was a joke. But because of the severity of the incident, Ard said that even the joke hurts the well-being of the school's students and staff.

The investigation is still being conducted by the Juvenile Division of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.  That investigation has resulted in 6 arrests: Matthew Arnold, Aaron Crow, Hannah Girior, and three juveniles whos names can not be released.

Arnold and Crow are out on $25,000 bond, while Girior remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
