SLIDELL, LA - A dispute over a car burglary leaves one man with several stab wounds and another behind bars, according to a spokesman with the Slidell Police Department.
It happened Sunday around 9pm at the intersection of Joy Drive and Lori Drive in the Breckenridge Subdivision.
Police responded to a disturbance call in the neighborhood. When police arrived, they found a large amount of blood in the street, and a 23 year-old victim with several stab wounds. The suspect, 29-year-old Anthony Davis, fled the scene.
After speaking with witnesses, police determined the dispute started over the fact that Davis allegedly broke into the victim's vehicle the night before.
The victim, who lives down the street from Davis, confronted Davis about the burglary. The discussion became heated resulting in Davis getting a knife.
Davis then began to repeatedly stab the victim; causing near fatal wounds. He fled on foot, but was eventually found by a Slidell Police K-9.
The victim is listed in critical condition at LSU Interim Hospital in New Orleans.
