The Saints are in the market for a new quarterbacks coach as Joe Lombardi has accepted the job as offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions.

While it does sting to lose a quality coach, general manager Mickey Loomis says that's just the price of success "I think that speaks to the program Sean has created and the type of coaches he brings; smart, really good football coaches and when you have those and have success, then they end up with opportunities elsewhere and we've had a number of guys move on to really good jobs and do a really good job at other places so yeah, it's difficult to replace those, you hate to lose them and yet, it's a good thing."

Lombardi was the Saints quarterbacks coach for five years and during that time, Drew Brees had three 5,000-yard seasons.
