Suspect sought in theft from Covington business

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - The Covington Police Department is asking for help from the public in locating and identifying a person of interest in a theft from a gas station.

Police say it happened Sunday, January 19th around 7pm. An male subject called the Claiborne Hill Shell Station at 1001 Highway 190 posing as the general manager.

He told the employee on duty that someone would be coming by to pick up money for another store and drop off a key.

Just before 7:00 p.m., an unidentified white female, who appeared to be in her twenties, entered the store. She gave the employee a key and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
