Gov. Jindal open to idea of medical marijuana

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Governor Bobby Jindal says he's open to the idea of medical marijuana in Louisiana.

According to and The Times-Picayune, the governor said Wednesday he supports the idea as long as patients are under close supervision of a doctor and the drug's distribution is kept under strict control.

This comes after lawmakers said Tuesday a bill legalizing medical marijuana would be unlikely to pass the legislature, but after the governor's statements it's possible they will revisit the issue.

Jindal did say he would veto any legislation that tried to legalize recreational marijuana use.
